Masters degree in Physics (Dipl.-Phys.) from the University of Freiburg in Breisgau (1990). Scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, Freiburg (1989 to 1992). Areas of expertise: semiconductor technology, solid state physics, optics, metrology, process engineering, surface technology.

Legal Background:
Active in the field of industrial property since 1992; examination as a patent assessor in 1995. Admission as German Patentanwalt and to the EUIPO as European Trademark and Design Attorney in 1996. Admission to the European Patent Office as European Patent Attorney in 1997. 2023 admission as a UPC Representative to the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

Main Areas of Activity:
Formulating, obtaining, defending and asserting intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, design rights); strategic advice, contentious (legal) disputes, expert opinions. Technological focus in the fields of: Mechanical engineering, plastics and metal processing and forming, process technology, physical technology, information technology (hardware and software), civil engineering.
